COFFEE WITH JESUS
Today is going to be a bit different than usual. I want to share with you a conversation I was having with Jesus while I was drinking my coffee in the morning. Although on one hand I knew I really needed to talk to God, my anxious self tried to interfere with planning another busy day in my head…
GOD: You’re in a hurry and thinking about when this is gonna end… that’s not nice.
ME: I am sorry, You’re right. I am nervous about time. How can I stop? I have so much to do. I don’t know how to plan everything…
GOD: Don’t, that’s my job, you enjoy the moment. When you meet up with a friend, you don’t think about a to-do list; you focus on the person.
Now, enjoy your coffee with Me. Be present. You need to learn how to be present. Then you will learn great things. Then you will learn how to enjoy life.
Hustle culture is about being productive and throwing away everything that doesn’t seem like it. It overlooks the importance of small things. But certain things take time to learn or to grow. If you hurry, you will miss them. I can see those things. So trust Me. You can relax now. You won’t miss out if you stop running; you will gain. And so will the people in your life. They need those small moments when you slow down. And so do you. You need to recharge, you need time with Me, you need to eat healthy and take care of yourself, you need time to explore, or otherwise you will run on empty. Hustling will help you reach certain points faster, but you won’t be able to see everything I want to show you. You won’t see the whole picture; you will miss out.
Sometimes we ask God for something and God will try to give it to us, but because it doesn’t come in the way that we wanted/expected it to come, we miss it. It’s not always that obvious. He might speak to you in those small “insignificant” moments. So, stop running and take a moment to think about what God wants to teach you today. Ask the Holy Spirit for help and listen to what He has to say. You can do it while drinking your coffee 🙂
