FEELING LIKE A FAILURE

We often treat our relationship with God like a ladder we have to climb, fearing that if we don’t hit a certain “level” of holiness, He won’t bless us or even turn away from us. We trap ourselves in a cycle of overperforming, and when we find ourselves struggling with the same sin again – the one we’ve apologized for a thousand times already – we let shame build a wall between us and our Father. We feel too embarrassed to face Him. We stop praying for weeks because we think He’s tired of hearing the same apology. But what if obedience isn’t about being perfect? What if it’s simply about staying close?

Healing starts with quiet obedience, small steps every day. Don’t rush it. Jesus never ran. You won’t miss your shot, because success is not up to you; it is up to God. He decides when to promote you, when to change your life. Not you, not your circumstances, He does.

All He wants is your obedience, even if it makes no sense. He wants your heart, your love. So stay close to Him, focus only on Him, and He will help you [“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33, ESV], because He is able and He is good. It is He who opens doors, and He will do so when the time is right.

You don’t have to be perfect to be impactful; you just have to be real. “This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.’” [Isaiah 30:15, NLT]

You have to rely on His strength, not your own. “Each time he said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” [2 Corinthians 12:9-10, NLT]

Stop thinking God can’t use you, because you’re flawed. Use your failures to help others who are going through the same thing. Don’t turn away from God because of them, because He is never turning away from you, not even in your darkest moments. He is ALWAYS there. Because JESUS IS UNconditional(!!!) LOVE. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” [Romans 8:1, NIV]

So why are you condemning yourself? Why do you keep telling yourself that God must have turned away from you because you sinned again? Again, He will NEVER turn away from you, because Christ died for all your sins, past and future. His blood is enough.

Let that sink in. His blood is enough.

“This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News.” [Colossians 1:21-23, NLT]

So if you messed up again today, don’t let it become a month of silence because you’re too ashamed to say the same prayer again. Keep bringing it to Him. God is not tired of you, and He’s not surprised either. Just don’t give up, don’t turn away from Him. God knows your heart. He knows you’re sorry, but you have to bring it to Him. Don’t go through it alone. He WANTS YOU to come to Him! He loves you. You will do better, because He will be with you and He will help you. Step by step.
